Naturopathy, otherwise known as Nature Cure, is a rational and evidence-based system of medicine imparting treatments with natural elements based on the theory of vitality, theory of toxemia, theory of self-healing capacity of the body and the principles of healthy living. Naturopathic Medicine is a system of primary health care practiced by Naturopathic physicians for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This non-pharmacological approach to health care emphasizes education, self-responsibility and therapies to support and stimulate the individual's self- healing capacity. Naturopathic medicine is rooted in the healing wisdom of many cultures and times.

Naturopathy Registration Board (NRB) is established to bring all the naturopathy practitioners/professionals, hospitals and institutes under one central registry in order to provide safe and effective naturopathy practice in this country. To bring about uniform education system in Naturopathy across the country, NRB aims to develop the Minimum Standards for Education (MSE) in Naturopathy which may be adopted by the various State Governments on voluntary basis. NRB further aims to develop the standards for professional qualification relating to their registration in Naturopathy Board and to develop the Standards of Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Code of Ethics to be observed by the practitioners.

I would like to conclude with the quote of Mahatma Gandhiji, “Nature cure implies that the treatment should be the cheapest and the simplest possible.”
